The whole idea was to build a solo act. That's why I'm doing that: it was my plan -- I was planning to gig originally, but then I realised bedroom pop was a thing.
I probably only have a small number of fans, but it's probably a pretty passionate group.
If I remember correctly, Amanda Michelina was a name that I came up with around 2019 or early 2020. It was definitely one of the ones I tried out when I was
in my first manic insomnia.
I probably devised a solo act because my training was as a soloist, so this felt like a natural extension of my guitar career. I love the sound I make, but
right now I'm not really interested in a band.
I think there's more wrinkles to unfurl with the guitar + voice combo; I haven't mastered my overtones yet, but hopefully I'll be able to sing multiphonics.

Though I read theory books like Music and the Power of Sound, my approach is intuitive, so I always think of that as just osmosis, which eventually becomes music.
I wish I knew more about audio -- I'm only able to do basic things, while Stephen mastered the hell out of my Shipwrecked on Islands EP. It sounds dope-as. 👍

I realise it's an exposed sound, and rather unforgiving re: notes. But that's the charm -- I think there's a 'life's a box of chocolates' vibe about how I present the music (and the persona). I think it's funny to use the rock singer sound on showtunes, though sometimes I like to sing legit.
Plus the persona is really just a vehicle to promote my musical. So while it's fun to do karaoke, my serious goal is the show.
