An Evening in Andora (Stephen) ... 7 July 2002

This is the same day as the Monaco trip, but has much more detail. As for shifting narratives: that's literally my thing. I'm pretty confident that the Fantasia would work with voice-overs and overlapping time frames (ie rewinding to play that sequence from another perspective). After Monaco we went on the motorway to Andora then we went to a beach there we've got a few photos of the beach above and below.

We found a park near the beach. After that we looked for a free beach because in most Italian beaches they have umbrellas and that stuff you have to pay for. We found a beach (this one wasn't free) but we saw some people siting on some rooks, near the umbrellas, and we asked them if it was a free beach. They said it was.

We had to put our togs on through our towels and after that we had a swim (I wish I had a surfboard for this). The things we did and saw in our swim were: jumping into the waves, swimming under the waves, a lifeguard telling some people off - they had fought, going to far a way from mum.

Anyway after that we went of to find a place for diner we found a pizzeria and had some very good pizzas my one had a very runny egg in the middle. We tried to order steak but they wanted us to pay for steak and the vegetables separately which would have cost about NZ$20.

Outside the restaurant there was a clown-magic show that had tricks that were very good to fool young kids but didn't fool us. Some of the tricks were: pulling stuff out of what was supposed to be an empty bag, pulling a large sock out of his sleeve, levitating a coke can, turning an egg into a rubber chicken. They sang a Mexican song. One was wearing a proper Mexican hat while the other was wearing a trick one (Mexican hat) that came apart. They also sang an Italian version of "Old McDonald" which was a bit different from the English one. They got 7 Children up on the stage, wearing noses to pretend to be the animals.

When we left the show at 10:30 p.m. there was heaps of kids running a running around eating ice creams and everything. There was a ball area and there was dozens of people in it and their parents outside it and there was a book shop near it the book shop was a tent.
