Euphemisms, or why I hate NZ English.

So, we're all familiar with my pet peeve about the word 'partner' .. which is basically that I think that it's a way for people to brush over the whole idea of gayness. Well, I think when it comes to me, those 'pass with care' signs annoy me for a fairly similar reason. Which is that people are very euphemistic about trans.. I don't think anyone at work actually asked if I was transgender or not (except maybe Anna...👋). And that's generally the vibe when I go anywhere business/bureaucratic: I'm often misgendered, and that's rather irritating... Evie ended up patching a 'they/them' logo onto their jacket. I feel like my name is a challenge too.. the number of people who tell me to say it several times is statistically significant.

I find people get 'Amanda' more easily than 'Amy', which is why I mostly use Amanda as my name.

- Funnily enough, though, I think the Chorale film was surprisingly effective -- that wasn't intentional: the posterise effect + Motion Array just randomly shook out with those colours. As I say, film is all about the happy accidents. That's true for animation, too: the whole roto process was essentially a happy accident. I think that my destigmatising campaign re: trans, rainbow and queer communities has already succeeded, though the downside is that people are now trying to blame the weed again for my insanity. - Look, Jane, it's fine if you watch me, but I'm not particularly keen to get your two cents about my interpretations.

I already have enough of you in my brain without having you try to live vicariously through me! 🤣

Tbh I reckon my tone is best on the cheap guitars occasionally. Like, I think the Melancholia will be an anti-climax on the album because the initial demo was quite good. - Yes, the Big Smoke was good. But I think that's as much explaining of me as I needed. I'm somewhat hurt that people thought it was an attempt to raise money for a surgery; that line was supposed to be a joke. That's the trans sense of humour. 🤣 I think prose is a better medium. Imagine a Tina story with the sophistication of the Plaything, and that's what I think the novella would capture. All that interiority about my paranoias (like the bulge etc.) .. also, Ethan thought Calliope wasn't so vivid, so hopefully I'd be able to show more insight into the whole cast via prose. - While Shipwrecked on Islands is my idea for a blockbuster movie. I had a thought: I think my Guenever demo demonstrates the motion capture potential of the AI effect; if Shipwrecked was filmed like Tintin, then the psychedelic paint job would separate it from Disney movies. That's my biggest fear: people thinking it's a Disney movie. That's like the kiss of death to the adult NZ audience. 🧠

I watched the trilogy again now that I'm advertising it. Overall, it's quite good, but there's enough flaws in each film to drag it below...

My joke: I wouldn't have called it 'Weeded Out' if I wasn't smoking a bucketload of weed while I made it. 🥝 Though, really, I only smoke 3 grams a week. That's why I think my drinking is a more serious thing for me... that's more like 6-8 drinks a day. I reckon coming out freed me to speak my mind, but people preferred the strong, silent type.

Though it's rather irritating that a lot of women think I'm attractive because I'm effeminate, yet most of them had trouble with the crossdressing. I mean, wtf? Lots of women wear leather jackets and jeans, so why is it so weird for a guy to wear a dress or a skirt?
