Reviewing a tape of a recent NZ classical recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHm9n4omPbo&ab_channel=SOUNZCentreforNZMusic It reminded me somewhat of the Mont Juic suite that Britten and Berkeley composed in the late 1930's. - This is my fear re: student players.
This is a dry, lifeless performance.
My midi tape sounds better than this. 😀

Single strings isn't enough, I was thinking double + 3 on the first violin.
Half-sections if the guitar is amplified. The Daktory has a lot of close-harmony divisi, and that needs a decent number of players.

Re: filming - every time I watch SOUNZ, I think 'I could do better'
But somehow, nobody ever asks me to film this stuff. Only guitar players.
I reckon I could make a really good film for the Queen's Closet ... putting it out there.

Chris Everest is solid, though, and that's good news. I don't want to play Pan's Preludes: sorry, I'm just not keen. I think Chris would capture the rhythm and the flavour - he's also a pro rhythm guitar player. I'm a director, and I can control the sound better from the outside. My ideal version is in a recording studio, with several takes.
- As for 'hire me': 1. that was just the street signs .. they're totally ubiquitous. I wasn't intending it as an audition; I'm not remotely interested in being an actor, but for the cause I'm more than willing to share about being a stoner. Real life me is more interesting than Tina, and I'm not playing myself for a fiction piece. No way: my life is crazy enough without that pressure, and the IRL stunts are more important than some dumb soap. And, though the theatre people say 'it's more real' .. no, there's nothing more real about opera than Dak Headroom. That was me actually pissing off people and being a nuisance for the cause. No means no for the opera and stage people who seek to profit off my image. No, you can't: you can use ideas of mine, but my voice and my body aren't for sale. That's just the truth. - plus for those who follow my antics, it's already a successful soap. 😤👽👾 -
I'd rather that people wrote to me rather than the way it feels right now.
For me, the billboards are like weapons, and I'm getting tired of that.
That's the downside of going pro as a political figure: all the obsession with marketing.
I wish I could afford taxis or Ubers, but I'm really cheap.
