That's the title of one of Emanuel's books. I thought I'd mention why I've got the sound, despite having never visited New York. Well, Ravil Atlas was around at Burnside, and he'd been on both Broadway and La Scala. More Italian-Americans, I guess. He was a pro vocal coach and singer. Emanuel's from Philadelphia, which was part of that scene via previews. Plus Mark Dorrell, who is something like the Paul Gemignani of England.

I'm a fan of John Wilson, but I have a few bones to pick with him about the swing style. I feel like his style rocks more than it swings. It's cool, but I'm all about that rubato.
