This was a running gag from the Wallace Street flat. 👍 I had noticed that the news media tended to pick an angle when running stories, so I wanted an aggregator which would sift the angles by political orientation and allow me to see which facts the various outlets reported (or didn't report). My friends thought this was stupid, and 'news for michael' was the put-down they used to rark me up. - 2023: Isentia basically provides this service, so when I worked there I got to see that stuff, which fueled my rants and satire: I had lots of fun speculating about the political leans of the various media companies. That was another era, though. RNZ is a totally different vibe, and the style guidelines are explicitly apolitical. Nevertheless, there is a left-leaning slant to RNZ: that's true of all the state broadcasters .. well, TVNZ is maybe centre-right 🤣🍃
