I refuse to make Tina as a form of transition. Like, 'make this so that you can be beautiful' is not an acceptable answer. It simply isn't. a) you have no idea if that's true or not. I don't think makeup hides ugliness. b) who gave you the right to define me by my appearance alone? c) There's no mental health team forcing me to take hormones, so it's really just social pressure from people that want to hear me sing, but are actively discriminating against me by limiting my opportunities to be hired in other fields. I'm comfortable with who I am, and explaining it as the token minority du jour has been deeply annoying. Also, I'm not saying people think I'm a seamless woman, but I'm saying that they think I do it well.
