Paddy Gower Has Issues 14.06.2023

Caught the intro this time. It seems to be flowing well. - The rugby segment is genuinely interesting. I remember something about the declining player numbers pre-Covid as well. But who remembers life pre-Covid? 🤣 - I'm genuinely too cheap to get a haircut. The main thing for me is that I'm ok with my sideburns, and the long hair is my style. Plus the activism: that's the style of the dak team. To clarify: I don't have a cannabis suit, but I have a jacket and skirt that are various shades of green. Oddly, I don't mind talking to my hairdressers: I feel about the same as if I'm visiting my GP... I get good music recommendations from Amber at Just Teasing. - Onto the comedy news team: Stronger; trying slightly too hard... the clips of the pollies are funny. I laughed a few times. Election season is ripe for comedy. - Seems like NZ Rugby has a line they're sticking to: 'everything has risks' .. makes me wonder what would happen if Rugby was only as popular as boxing, rather than our national sport. 🤔 - Big plug for anti-seabed mining. I wonder if that'd change Gary's perspective about how Paddy uses his power; in the car, he said 'Paddy only looks out for Paddy' or something similar. - I wish there was a way to block the ads. Missed some of the intro to Karen O'Leary's segment. The studio laughter... it's a little sparse. I'm smoking my medical weed, plus the gunk in my pipe. - Something from my kiwi kid childhood: I read both Ian Smith and Keith Quinn's books about cricket and rugby respectively. I though Paddy's little joke about Keith Quinn was funny. I'm a cricket fan; I think the last year I really gave a toss about rugby was when the Chiefs won their first Super Rugby tournament. The 2015 World Cup .. I watched the final, oh, and All Blacks v. Georgia while I was writing The Knight On My Couch. - Comedy news segment 2: meh. Though that news from Aussie about Nazi signage was genuinely surprising. I reckon they should cite their sources. Otherwise, it feels too much like a joke... - Rugby part 2: ... it feels desperate from the rugby fans and the Blues CEO. I wonder how much of this was pre-staged? To be honest, that's a general problem that I have with the show: it feels somewhat manufactured. 👋 -

Hairdressing part 3: Yes, it is obviously a gay haircut, Karen. That's the old-school style of pushing the gay issue... the problem for me look-wise isn't that. People can tell I'm a trannie: the problem is all the bullshit about trans rights and the culture wars that result in annoying questions (or people deliberately misgendering me). Which isn't really an issue at the hairdressers or the liquor store or whatever, but in professional situations is a gigantic hassle for me. I'm mostly straight, but as I identify in the feminine, I tend to feel like a male lesbian. - Rugby part 3: Compared to Bad News, this is very soft. - I assume Paddy votes Labour, given he said he's 'not a greenie' For those who thought my Fresh Culture series was soft journalism, I think it had more bite than this. 👋

Finally saw this. I reckon it's cool that my rant in the park inspired all these uncut news programmes. Though, to be fair, there's...

I've known Umar since we were in high school, and we've collaborated a few times, so this isn't an unbiased review. This was quite nice....

Well, this was obviously testing the waters for a potential leadership bid. I wasn't really satisfied with her answers around whether...
