Hipkins to Luxon 'The images on our TV screens are very distressing' - Luxon. 'Why won't the New Zealand Government call a permanent ceasefire?' - Hipkins. 'Conditional ceasefire' - Luxon. 'What the fuck is that?' - Gary. CH 7/10, CL 5/10.
Wedd to Willis 'The government has inherited very difficult economic conditions' - Willis. 'NZ is expected to run a deficit of up to $11.4 billion this year.' - Willis 'Better times ahead' - Willis. Better for who? Landlords and billionaires.✊ 'oh no! we made their money cry...' - Gary McAnulty pointed out a procedural thing: the Government can't ask questions of itself to attack another party. Turn down Nicola's mic, sound people! She was belting full-volume today. CW 6/10, NW 4/10 - too much attack, little variation.
Marama to Luxon 'Punching down and ripping off' - Gary re: Luxon. 'NZ needs transitioning energy sources' - Luxon. Marama threw his words as Air New Zealand CEO in his face. MD 7/10, CL 6/10
Robertson to Willis 'I am still receiving advice on tax policies.' - Willis. Question was whether the tax cuts were able to be 'self-funded'... 'I regret very little' - Willis quoting Judith Collins quoting Edith Piaf. GR 9/10, NW 4/10 - too much yelling!
Debbie to Luxon All the new Māori Party MP's had a supplementary and most were addressed in both Te Reo Māori and English. 'That's [Select Committee] as far as it will go' - Luxon regarding the Treaty Principles Bill. That suggests National isn't supporting it for a second reading. TPM 8/10, CL 7/10
Trask to Van Velden Fair Pay question... 'can't pay them properly, or the slaves might feel entitled' - Gary. 'The amount ripped off from workers each year is larger than fraud' - Gary. LT 6/10, BVV 5/10.
Verrall to Reti Brownlee seems to favour the Nats. 'He's got four parties in opposition' - Gary, including NZ First. 🤣 Did they keep tobacco lobbies outside the Smokefree law change process? - Verall Did Reti delegate that Bill to an associate minister to avoid tough questions from the Cancer Society etc? (it was quite a long list) AV 5/10, SR 5/10, boring question.
McCallum to Brown Used a primary question to attack the opposition. Brownlee pulled them up. 'Still haven't seen a photo of him riding a bike' - Gary re: Simeon Brown. 'They don't care about taxpayers money' - Brown on Labour. GM 6/10, SB 4/10.
Marcroft to Peters Scott Base redevelopment. 'Serious cost escalations' - Peters. $344 million in 2021 turned to over $500 million by 2022. 'That was a very long answer; I'm struggling to stay with it' - Brownlee 'Misery takes a long time to spell out' - Peters. Scores: JM 6/10, WP 5/10 - rambling...
W. Jackson to T. Potaka 'I am commited to helping as many people as possible to speak Te Reo Māori' -Potaka Has the Minister lobbied the PM regarding the cuts to salaries for public service employees who are proficient speakers? - Jackson. WJ 6/10, TP 4/10 - Willie wielded some mana.
Nimon to Stanford Jan Tinetti has a convo with Ginny Anderson during this question! 🤣 KN 6/10, ES 5/10 - speaking too fast.
Golriz to Peters 'Now he's mansplaining to her' - Gary. Nathan Guy was in the stands above the Government. Scores: GG 6/10, WP 5/10 - sounded like he was reading that piece of paper for the first time. He's not what he was in his prime, and Gary hasn't much confidence in Brownlee as speaker. 👋👩💻 - For the fellow nerds: yes, Fantasy Parliament is totally real. I want other people to contribute scores so we can take a mean or agregate score. Unless everyone's ok with me doing the scoring? Points: AMPP = 65. There were several questions where I didn't score any points.

I ditched that averaging the scores of Chris Luxon or Chris Hipkins thing. This was just easier, and that's probably best for a game like this. It does privilege certain MP's, but that's the nature of Question Time. I noticed that I had neither of the Health Ministers on my team, and that was probably a tactical error. 👩💻👋
