Question Time 08.06.2023

  1. Willis to PM (answered by Kelvin Davis). First of 3 Michael Wood questions! This is stupid and pointless: this isn't a Stuart Nash-level fuckup. Gary says Kelvin Davis was an unusual choice to answer the question: 'not quick on his feet' Too much jargon... -

  2. Aupito Sio to Megan Woods 2,000 additional households to benefit from renewables generation. 30 renewables projects have begun, and 12 are expected to start soon. ... targeting 435 homes -- I couldn't tell if that was the total number, or just the stat for the 12 upcoming projects. Ara Ake has more info. -

  3. Paul Goldsmith to Michael Wood He's sold the shares now. -

  4. Meka Whaitiri to Megan Woods $70 million for relocatable cabins. Up to 1000 homes for Hawke's Bay. 3 more cabins arrived today. Apparently whānau have been evicted from temporary housing last week. -

  5. Seymour to PM (Kelvin Davis answered) Nobody in the PM's office was aware of the shares until last week. Gary: 'he [Davis] is making a mess of this.' -

  6. Chloe Swarbrick to Barbara Edmonds Healthy homes standards... wasn't that Greens idea? Are the exemptions of student housing and boarding houses from the Residential Tenancies Act appropriate? 60% of private homes are likely to be left off the Landlord's register .. think that's right -- Chloe had a quip about the 'conservative' UK government is more on top of this than we are. -

  7. Ibrahim Omer to Ayesha Verrall 3 new multi-institution hubs for scientific research. Plus Aotearoa is teaming up with some European project .. I missed the name of that. We switched sides during this question. -

  8. Mark Mitchell to Ginny Andersen As always, removing the Misuse of Drugs Act would make us overpoliced rather than underpoliced. 👍 Then there was a series of questions that led to a silly semantic debate about 'safety' -

  9. Arena Williams to Willie Jackson 52 new kaupapa Māori employment training programs .. $56.1 million? 5,548 people have used the programs since 2018. 71% enter employment, education or training. -

  10. Toni Severin to Kelvin Davis Prisons question .. boring. Gary: 'This is a corrections beat-up, not a prisoner welfare question. It's highlighting the failure of the education and mental health systems' -- yes, this is our chatter. -

  11. Erica Stanford to Jan Tinetti A TV camera stuck around to film this; there was a 3-camera scrum for the Michael Wood questions. Totally boring question -- I've been saying that the whole time. -

  12. Jamie Strange to Kieran McAnulty Emergency Management Bill. Key changes: clarifying roles and responsibilities, Māori recognition .. 'locally led, regionally coordinated and nationally supported.'
