Question Time: a glossary

The Prime Omelette = Chris Luxon (The Prime Minister) Chippy = Chris Hipkins (Leader of Labour) The Pink Skull = David Seymour (Leader of Act) Avocado Princess = Chloe Swarbrick (Co-leader of the Greens). Queen of the lemons/Queen of the cookers = Brooke Van Velden.

Slimeon = Simeon Brown. Avocados = the Green Party. Fantasy Parliament = Fantasy football for Parliament. I gave up after a few rounds, but if there were more people playing, then I'd be League commissioner. Search my blog for the rules. Patsy question = when the government asks itself a question.

out of order = something that's contrary to the Speaker's rulings. Yes, there's literally hundreds of these, and Mr. Brownlee is supposed to know them all. Attacking the opposition is usually one of those, but certain prominent MPs are able to bend the rules (Winston Peters and David Seymour).

pollies = politicians. That's an Australian term.

I've worked with Australian English professionally as well. Probably the reason that I chose to write The Dispatcher.
