the importance of ambient sounds

I think that's a key feature of the Riddell Productions/Amanda Michelina ethos which is somewhat different to our predecessors. Like, for example, my podcast is me walking around real neighbourhoods, and that's part of the charm for my audience of pro media and film people. Funnily enough, Portrait of a Knight features comparatively little live ambience. Stephen was obsessed with these Ambisonics microphones that can record 360-degree sound, and nobody had recorded New Zealand with those at that point. After POAK was released on VOD, Stephen bought those microphones. I think that Raktavasa (Rati-Avasa) was the first thing that we recorded with those.
