That is why they're going to apologise and pay me regardless of whether the film goes into production.
Instead of helping me with actual assistance, including face-to-face communication; legitimate offers for the script; actually bothering to meet me for coffee or dinner; or supporting me in my quest - both the drug and trans reforms - they belittled me, insulted me, lied to me and actively told me that I was a hindrance to their political goals.
I still worked really hard on that script. I made a number of webseries episodes using my own money. They refused to even consider buying the draft unless it was exactly what they wanted. I told them to buy it and to rewrite it, and in any other country that makes films, they probably would have.
If it had been a book, they would have.
A lot of pro media people vote Green, work for the party during the election years, and are members, so I actually think this genuinely represents a form of corruption. You lot decided that I could receive funding for one project that suited your interests, and have pretty much told me that, and also that I can't present other options.
My short film scripts are simply a practical solution to this impasse: I get paid to make those, you buy my Tina movie and you publicly apologise for attempting to steal it.
Here's my view: you guys admit guilt, and we all avoid court and possible prison terms.
People report on this, shaming you slightly, but mostly allowing me to do what Gary did and bring a bunch of press articles when I present to the Select Committees on trans issues.
