1. He took the rap.

2. Yeah, he roofied an underage girl, but Caravaggio killed a guy, and Artaud + most of the French famous artists have something dodgy in their bio. Art is not the artist, and most artists are genuinely terrible people. Some hide it behind a mask, others are more obviously dickheads, and that's women too.

3. Yes, there is a separate word for people who lust after post-pubescent people. Hebephilia and Ephebophilia. It was the '70s and free love was the mood in LA.

4. His wife was murdered by Manson, he survived the Nazis by running into the bush, and he makes disturbing movies rather than light(ish) comedy.

It's not an excuse - it's just a full explanation. Plus he's made several film masterpieces -- Repulsion, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown, Tess, The Pianist... one of those would be in most people's top 100 list.

Btws the Caravaggio and Artaud examples are from Jack Body's final lecture. I think he knew the skeletons would come out after he died.

And I get bored of debating morality with hipsters who are too afraid to talk to me. Point is, I know how to make a movie that works, and that's a rare skill. -

While my black mark is just that I'm a political activist for a relatively unpopular cause, and that Wellingtonians 'weren't ready' for the bearded trannie.

I never thought of myself as a trailblazer, but I have noticed significantly more people like me on the streets since Covid.

My life is dramatic enough without intentionally adding drama queens to it.

I was being OTT when I said I'd never make the Weeded Out feature, but it's definitely on hold until 2024.

I'm sticking to my guns re: shooting style - minimal crew (8-10 people max), minimal lighting -- a quick'n'dirty shoot (if it ever happens). -

And, newsflash, my twin managed to cast his feature (before his insanity got the best of him) without dipping into the theatre kid well, so I reckon I'll be able to as well.

Plus stage and film acting are two entirely separate crafts: just making a point there.. not everyone is good at everything, and I challenge the stage kids to make their own movie. -

I'd still rather film anywhere but the VUW campus for the uni scenes: if the (very) tame criticism that script contained pissed them off, then why bother? 👍

As for my own desires: there's a really good meme about this .. paraphrasing 'it's difficult to be a sissy in a hyper-sexualised culture: so many confusing messages about what you can and can't be turned on by.'

I'm not really into sex. I think it's gross, and anal is far too much work for me. However, I do find aesthetic beauty to be sexually thrilling.

I'm like Dali: I masturbate a lot. And apparently he was into some pretty disturbing shit.
